When she’s sleeping, the Boathouse is just that, the Neill family's (rather wonderful) boathouse, which has a breathtaking position looking out with its own private terrace and pier, towards the straits of Cymyran, or what is colloquially known as the inland sea.
During the summer months the space transforms to become a very special venue, now represented exclusively by Canopi.

Why we love this venue
Gentle water lapping at the shoreline at your feet… the evocative scent of polished wood and sea salt, against fresh pine drifting over from Penhros forest... We could write a book… This place is the business, and it’s magic.
Oh, and it has built-in loos which are really nice.

Where is the light best? The warmest glow is to the right if you’re facing the sea, where you’re bathed in the sunset, but the sun on the terrace is fantastic all day.
Where’s the best spot to have a gin and tonic? Without a doubt on the end of the pier, watching the light dapple on the water, starlings murmurate and wildlife sing all year round.
What’s your favourite memory of the place? I’ve built several boats within these walls so they have a lot of stories to tell of that toil! But the moment when you first take a new or revived vessel down the slipway with the inland sea egging you on, is a superb feeling. Oh, and our son getting married here!
