Bryn Teg sits proudly on slightly raised ground on the Aber Foreshore, just one mile from the world-renowned fortress-palace of Caernarfon Castle.
With views across the glittering Menai Strait towards the Corsican pines of Newborough Forest on the opposite shore, choosing this venue also means that you're invited to befriend Mimosa and Seren, the two friendly ponies that inhabit the land in front of the main house.

Why we love this venue
Bryn Teg is second-to-none for a marquee wedding, with effortless access to Caernarfon’s facilities and history but with the exclusivity of private land and a cracking aspect that will show you the sun setting over the sea, year round.
Blossoms swathe the gardens in spring and the owners invite you to their romantic gardens behind the house for photographs to make the most of it.
There’s also no shortage of activities available nearby if it’s more of an active event that you’re planning: golf, trekking, swimming, waterskiing, zip-lining, windsurfing... You’re spoilt for choice. (But we’d always recommend a dance on the foreshore in the dwindling light.)

Words from the owner
How did you end up as the custodian of Bryn Teg? My father bought the house when I was about 2 or 3 and now I have grandchildren so hopefully it’ll see at least four or five generations of Matthews’ if we keep it up! It was built in 1870 so it’s seen some things over the years. The front garden has been used for every sport you can imagine, and some very good parties.
What's your favourite part of the venue? The views. And the fireplace today, because it’s nippy in February!
Where is the light best? It’s so different around every corner, obviously the sunset on the front is lovely, but at the back in autumn with the beech trees turning gold, that’s really beautiful.
Where’s the best spot to have a gin and tonic? I fashioned a low table from an old tree stump I found, that sits at the front of the house, and that gets the full sun setting over the Menai Strait. There’s nowhere else finer for a celebratory drink when the day is done.
